This month's Spud Spirit Award winner, Dorothy Dodds Elementary kindergarten teacher Lexie Wallace, earned the rare distinction of receiving multiple nominations in the same semester. Her students were so delighted with her win that they started a spontaneous chant of "hooray!"

Evan Wanner(5) shoots the ball past the close defense into the net during the Moorhead Spuds' lacrosse match on May 3 against the TriMAC Blackhawks. This goal would mark one of Wanner's four made during the match, adding to the astounding winning score of 12-1 for the Spuds. Proving to be a dominant force in their season, the Spuds are staying for a home game to take on the St. Michael-Albertville Knights, both teams currently holding middle ranks in their respective tournaments.

Brady Bartle, sinks a birdie on the 5th hole at Edgewood Golf Course during the Boys Golf tournament on May 5 against Fargo North. The team wrapped up a strong 9th-place finish on the day. Moorhead will now head to Sauk Centre on May 9 to go toe-to-toe with the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters.

Moorhead Area Public Schools is proud to announce that the Moorhead High School Speech Team claimed their ninth consecutive Minnesota State High School League Class AA State Team Championship on April 26 at the State Speech Tournament in Shakopee, MN. The Spuds compiled 88 points and won 17 medals, tied for the third most by a school in a single year!
