Lead Adult Basic Education Instructor Dianne Lapka has retired after 32 years at MAPS. 🧡🖤 Dianne has enjoyed interacting with a diverse population in the district. She says, “I enjoyed having the privilege to teach with trained professionals that do honor to their jobs.”

Today’s TBT from Moorhead Spud History features some “Did You Know” facts about the gym at Moorhead High School on eighth street! 🔸The gym had skylights (check them out in this pic!) 🔸The locker rooms were underneath the bleachers. 🔸The side opposite the bleachers had a movable wall that opened to the auditorium.
Paraprofessional Patti Beiswenger has retired after 23 years at MAPS. She says, “It has been a rewarding career working with caring and knowledgeable staff to support the eager, delightful, though sometimes challenging, students of MAPS. I do miss you all.” 🧡🖤
After 19 years at MAPS, Special Education Teacher Jolene Wiebold says, “I found it so heartwarming when former students stopped in to say hello and to tell me how they were doing. I will truly miss the students and wonderful colleagues.” Congrats on your retirement! 🧡🖤

The School Board has recognized Jinu Lee for his amazing MATHCOUNTS achievements. Way to go Jinu! 🎉 MATHCOUNTS is coached by Rich Eidsness. 🔸Jinu ranked #1 in the 2021 MATHCOUNTS Regional competition on March 5. 🔸Jinu also went on to place in the top four at the 2021 MN State MATHCOUNTS competition on March 25. 🔸He was selected to be a mathlete for The American Regionals Mathematics League and was also asked to participate in the MN All-State Math Team.
