MOORHEAD, MN — Moorhead Area Public Schools is thrilled to officially lock in the date for the grand finale of our high school construction journey.
Community members, families, and Spud alumni are officially invited to the Moorhead High School Theater and Phase 2 Grand Opening on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony will take place at 1:30.
This historic event marks the absolute completion of the five-year phased MHS building project. The 1050 seat theater marks the completion of the final phase which brings the highly anticipated creative, scientific, and administrative hearts of the campus to 100% completion.
Attendees will be the first to walk through the brand-new, state-of-the-art MHS Theater and experience the details of the Music and Fine Arts wing of the high school.
The afternoon will feature an interactive, self guided tour format. Rather than just viewing empty spaces, guests will experience the space fully alive—including live, rotating musical showcases by MHS student ensembles taking advantage of the theater's professional-grade acoustic engineering.
Entry is free and open to the public. Full event details will be released in early August. For now, mark your calendars for August 18 at 1:30 p.m. and help us celebrate the completion of a campus built to inspire generations of Spuds!
