
Supervisor of Elementary Learning & Accountability Kari Yates has retired after 15 years at MAPS. Kari will miss the daily connection with staff who are hard working and committed to continually stretch themselves in order to better serve the young learners of this district. 🧡🖤


Teacher Teresa Puffe has retired after 27 years at Moorhead Area Public Schools. 🧡🖤
Terri says she will miss the students and her amazing colleagues. “A huge ‘hats off’ to the FACS department of Moorhead High School!” she says.
Terri says, “The most meaningful aspect of teaching at the high school is having past students come back and tell me they loved my class and that they use the life skills that we teach. I have had a couple of students from the foods classes I taught become successful chefs, and I know of two students from the housing and design course that are in the interior design business.”
In her retirement, Terri is looking forward to spending more time with her family.

Last week the Anne Carlsen Center hosted iCan Bike Camp at Moorhead High School. The 5-day iCan Bike camp uses a fleet of adapted bicycles, a specialized instructional program and a trained staff to teach individuals with disabilities how to ride a bike. Moorhead Area Public Schools Physical Therapist, Kristin Peters, volunteered at the camp and her son Jake participated. Check out their smiling faces! 😊🚲



Paraprofessional Linda Pederson has retired after 30 years at Moorhead Area Public Schools. 🧡🖤 Linda says her favorite part of her job was working with students and seeing that "aha" moment when something they were learning finally clicked.

Horizon Middle School students Megan Hartwig and Nevaeh Kellerman were recognized at last night’s School Board Meeting. They placed 10th in the Middle Level Improvisation Challenge, "Case Closed", at the Destination Imagination Global Tournament in July.
Team members were asked to research detectives and forensic techniques then create an improvisational video presentation that tells a story about a detective and a sidekick teaming up to solve a mystery. The team is managed by Horizon West teacher Carrie Hartwig. #SpudPride


Learning Resource Strategist Kim Nelson has retired after 33 years at Moorhead Area Public Schools. Most recently, she served at S.G. Reinertsen Elementary school. Congrats on your retirement, Kim! 🧡🖤
