The Spuds volleyball team celebrates on Sept. 16 during their match against Bemidji. The Spuds took the Lumberjacks in three sets: 25-21, 25-15 and 25-16. The Spud players had great stats, with Rosie Anderson at 11 kills and two blocks and Mya Pfeifer with nine kills, two blocks and one ace. Grace Perry also had a good showing with eight kills and one block. Taliah Triggs came in with the most blocks at four and had three kills as well. Anna Knain and Sarah Boock both had 17 assists for Moorhead, while Alexa Gronwold scored two aces. Spuds volleyball's record is 2-3 on the season. Photo credit: Bill Grover

Spuds won 28-18, quarterback Gavin Quade completed nine of 21 passes for 118 yards and three touchdowns, but had two interceptions. The team rushed for 141 yards and were on the receiving end for 118 yards. The defense had four tackles for loss of yards, caused two fumbles with one recovery, and intercepted four Warrior passes. Senior captain Maria Zanotti started off scoring early and went on to score four of their eight goals in their shutout win over the Otters. Spuds played Elk River Sept. 10 and were shutout, 0-5.
