At the MSHSL 2024 Visual Arts Section Contest-Festival in Little Falls, MN, MHS visual artists demonstrated their artistic talents, earning superior and excellent rankings. Among them, Ava Paszkiewicz a senior received superior rankings in sculpture and 2D mixed media, both entries are moving on to the State Showcase on May 11. #OnceASpudAlwaysASpud

On April 26, Moorhead Area Public Schools welcomed Patty Hand, Chief Operating Officer of the Minnesota Department of Education, for tours of the newly constructed Moorhead High School and the Moorhead High School Career Academy. Patty had the opportunity to explore the recently opened phase one building of Moorhead High School, which started welcoming students in January. Additionally, she visited the Moorhead High School Career Academy, established in 2021, where students from grades 9 to 12 participate in hands-on learning and career exploration. #OnceASpudAlwaysASpud


Robert Asp Elementary held a Day of Compassion, featuring a full-day retreat with various small and large group teamwork activities. CELEBRATING 150 YEARS: Paula Bauck, a PE teacher in Moorhead Area Public Schools from 1958 to 1983, was instrumental in launching interscholastic girls' sports in Moorhead and statewide. Before Title IX in 1972, she championed girls' athletics, gaining recognition from state leaders and setting the stage for progress in Minnesota.
