Moorhead alumni Carter Howell is making a name for himself in professional baseball, earning Player of the Year honors in his first season with the Richmond Flying Squirrel, the Double A- affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. As of Sept. 6, Howell, a right fielder led the team in 11 statistical categoies, including batting average, hit, on-base percentage, extra - base hits, and runs scored.
