
On April 5, the Spuds Speech Team clinched victory at the 8AA Sections tournament for the 29th year in a row. With a seven-year streak as State Champions, twenty-six Spuds secured a spot for the state tournament in Shakopee this weekend, aiming for an eighth championship.

Payton Babolian attempts a bunt on Opening Day for Softball against Breckenridge. The Spuds' offense got home runs from Rylie Spitzner, Madden Bogenreif and Taylor Brueske—along with 11 strikeouts courtesy of Kellsey Kludt on the mound—en route to a dominating a 14-3 victory. Last week, Moorhead Police Department School Resource Officers visited second graders at all MAPS elementary schools for a safety-focused read-along, sponsored by the Moorhead Police Athletics and Activities League. Officers shared the story of "Officer Buckle and Gloria," emphasizing important safety lessons. Every student received a copy of the book, and each classroom received a plush toy resembling Police K-9 Zeke. #OnceASpudAlwaysASpud





CELEBRATING 150 YEARS: The Moorhead Athletic Association provided the funds in 1971 for the purchase of a 47 passenger coach bus. The bus would be used so the spuds could travel in comfort.🚌 #OnceASpudAlwaysASpud

Excitement filled the Concordia College gym as third-grade students from across the district and Red River Valley gathered for a musical performance by the Concordia percussion ensemble, part of the Learning Bank program. Known for its innovative approach to arts education, Learning Bank aims to immerse students in the world of music. Throughout the show, students were introduced to a variety of instruments and able to immerse themselves in the world of music. 🥁

On March 23, ND-20061 Air Force Junior ROTC competed in the Sioux Falls Invitational Drill meet in Sioux Falls, SD. Against five other teams from North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa, ND-20061 excelled, placing first in Armed Regulation led by Cadet Adelaid Bakken and 1st Year Color Guard Cadet Keaton Young, a freshman at MHS and one of five students in the Moorhead ROTC program this year. #OnceASpudAlwaysASpud

In early April, MAPS Director of Early Learning Joelle Hofer delivered a presentation at the United Way Women's United Leadership Team, along with representatives from Folkways and the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center. The MAPS JumpStart preschool program is thankful for the generous funding received from United Way of Cass-Clay's Bold Goal 2 initiatives. #OnceASpudAlwaysASpud

Every first Thursday of the month, lunch menus throughout the Moorhead Area Public School district feature proteins and produce sourced from farms and ranches in Minnesota. CELEBRATING 150 YEARS: Both Boys and Girls track teams were the top teams in the state during this decade. Both teams combined for 19 individual and relay State Championships and 6 team Championships. Paula Bauck and Jim Gotta were coaches for the teams.
