Congratulations to the Spuds volleyball team for winning the 35th Annual Pumpkin Classic Invitational Volleyball Tournament that took place Oct. 22-23. The two day event included twelve teams with two courts running simultaneously. With all four game victories, Moorhead took the tournament title. Congratulations to the boys soccer team for moving forward in the ClassAAA Tournament! The Spuds shutout Sartell on Oct. 19 and advanced to the finals against St. Michael-Albertville on Oct. 21. After tying 1-1 in the last 80 seconds of the game and going into a scoreless overtime, the game had to be determined by final penalty kicks. Two Moorhead seniors led the Spuds to victory with Jacob Vannett stopping three of the five shots by STMA and Luqman Ali scoring the winning penalty kick. It's Red Ribbon week, which highlights the importance of drug-use prevention. We want to give a special thank you to an individual who helps teach the importance of this week in our schools: School Resource Officer Jordan Werk! Werk has been with the Moorhead Police Department for five years and began working as an SRO for MAPS last year. This year she will be teaching the DARE program to students at Horizon Middle School. A book is a gift you can open again and again. 📖 Thank you to the Moorhead Rotary Club who recently donated $10,000 worth of books to Moorhead elementary schools! Along with this amazing donation, Moorhead Rotary provided a dictionary to every 3rd grader, an annual program that students look forward to.

Makeup Picture Day
Haney's Photography will be offering their first makeup picture day for ALL grades at their studio this Wednesday, Oct 20 from 12-2pm.
There will be no picture retakes yet, they will follow after the majority of students have taken their first picture for yearbook, parent packages, and so on.
Camera cards and order forms will be ready for you when you arrive to have your students picture taken.
