Swing batter batter ⚾ Spuds baseball scrimmaged at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis last week! This unique opportunity was set up by Spuds coach Greg Salvevold and East Ridge Raptors coach Brian Sprout. Brian and Greg were teammates on the FM Redhawks almost 20 years ago! The Spuds first official game is in Sartell against the Sabres on April 7. #GoSpuds




Our speech team is spectacular! 🗫 We hosted the Northern Lights National Qualifiers competition on March 18. Fourteen of our speech students qualified for Nationals! They will compete June 12-17 in Louisville, Kentucky. #SpudPride

Head Coach Ryan Kraft and Assistant Coach Greg Salvevold were named the 8AA Girls Head and Assistant coaches of the year! 🏆 This annual Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association award is given to outstanding coaches who show good sportsmanship, display professionalism, make contributions to better girls' high school hockey and more. Now this is what teamwork is all about! 🧡 Recently, industrial technology teacher Jeff Schneider volunteered his time to create a custom mobility base for a p-pod bean bag. The bean bag provides students with postural support in an alternative seating option. Mobility bases for this specialty equipment can be over $1,500 and he was able to use the space at the Moorhead High School Career Academy to make it for a fraction of the price. #SpudPride



Good luck to the boys basketball team as they take on Wayzata today at 4 p.m. in the state quarterfinals! 🏀 2012 was the last time the Spuds claimed the section title and headed off to state, when Head Coach Matt Ellingson was on the team. Bring on the music! 🎺 Freshman band students at Moorhead High School will be performing a commissioned piece after two years of teamwork! 🥁 The song, entitled Clay County Overture, celebrates our regional heritage. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. on March 24 at the MHS Auditorium. #SpudPride

Boys basketball is headed to the section championship! 🏀 The Spuds defeated Rogers on March 12, with a score of 86-59. They play the Brainerd Warriors tonight at Alexandria Area High School. Game starts at 7 p.m. #GoSpuds



Congratulations to Sam Haiby on this milestone! Last week was National Breakfast Week! 🥞 To celebrate the most important meal of the day, Food and Nutrition Services provided unique options last week in our schools. At Moorhead High School and MHS Career Academy, students built a custom yogurt parfait the entire week. 🍓🍌
