The Moorhead Planning Division recently partnered with a Small Business Development class at the MHS Career Academy on "The Vacant Lot Project." The project allowed students to research a vacant lot and explore how it could create value and opportunity for the community.

Moorhead High School staff and students raised over $1,500 to purchase holiday gifts for MHS students in need! They sold hot cider and had a winter wonderland selfie booth! ❄️ #SpudPride #WeAreSpuds

- Boys basketball beat Edina 77-75 on Dec. 17.
- Boys swim & dive beat the Spartans 93-87 on Dec. 12. It came down to the final relay, which the Spuds won by 13 seconds.
- Girls Hockey beat Holy Family Cathedral 4-3 on Dec. 17.



There will be no school for Moorhead students Dec. 23 – Jan. 2. Classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Way to go, Spuds! The girls hockey team spread cheer by making deliveries for The Great North Pole. We are proud of our high school students! They are giving back to our community and brightening people's holidays. 🌟 #SpudPride #WeAreSpuds
Last week the boys hockey team took on Bemidji for their home opener on Nov. 29. Jace Blythe scored his first varsity goal in an overtime play, pulling the win for the Spuds, 4-3.
The boys basketball team took on Bismarck Century for their home opener on Dec 2. Spuds lost 56-89.


Wednesday, Dec. 7, is a late start day. Buses and classes for Moorhead Area Public Schools K-12 will run two hours later than the normal schedule. Preschool students will continue with their regular schedule.

Shoutout to Career Academy teachers Johanna Heigaard and Alison Przybilla, who are expanding their learning at the Association for Career and Technical Education’s national conference. They were two of 20 selected to participate in this Advancing Career & Technical Educators Symposium! #SpudPride


The giving spirit in our community always warms our hearts! The entire district gathered over 17,000 cans for Fill the Dome. Congratulations to Student Council for planning and dedicating countless hours to this project. The High School and Career Academy collected nearly 5,000 cans. Robert Asp Elementary collected the second most at over 4,000 cans! #SpudPride #WeAreSpuds
