The Girls Golf Team competed in the Section 8AAA tournament at Headwaters Country Club in Park Rapids. Madi Hanson led the way for the Spuds at sectionals, carding an 81 and an 89, finishing 12th overall at 170. MHS wrapped up the 2023 season with a fourth place sectional finish.

Joel Egerdahl carries the ball up field during the Boys Lacrosse sectional quarterfinal against Becker on May 31. Egerdahl led Moorhead with four goals as the Spuds raced past the Bulldogs 18-6 to advance to the Section 8A semifinals. Moorhead opens State Tournament play Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. against defending champion Benilde St. Margaret.

Jace Blythe scores from in tight during the Boys Lacrosse contest with Grand Rapids on May 23rd. The Spuds raced out of the gates with 10 straight goals to open the game and cruised to a 20-2 victory on Senior Night. Blythe had a hat trick on the day, as did Joel Egerdahl; Caleb Alderson led the way with four goals for Moorhead. The top-seeded Spuds will face St. Cloud in the sectional semifinals at home on Tuesday.

MHS's Advanced Foods Class has been in the midst of a baking competition. The winner from the Block 1 class was B1K4, and in the Block 3 class was B3K3! Congrats! 🎉🧁

The MAPS Summer Food Program starts today, May 31, and runs through August 3. These meals are free and available to all children 18 and under. Special diet meals are also available by contacting the Food Services Department (see graphic).

Jameson Cozad (left, MHS Class of 2019) and MHS senior Micah Cozad are smudging the room—a ceremony to clean the air—and giving thanks to the creator for all we have and all we have yet to achieve during the blessing Willard Yellowbird gives at the Indian Education Graduation Celebration held at the Moorhead High School Career Academy on Feb 10. Eleven Indigenous students will be graduating with the Moorhead Class of 2023 on May 26 at Nemzek Hall on the campus of MSUM.
