Our first grade scientists were busy observing and recording rocks this week.
Sra. Gonzalez's Kindergarten class created incredible snail trail paintings inspired by their own snail sculptures and the artist Jackson Pollock. Artists started with only primary colors, but ended up with a whole rainbow. Check these out! - Ivy Mattson, Art Teacher
The hallway at Ellen Hopkins Elementary is in full bloom! 🌼🌷🌺 Elementary students created a flower as unique as themselves to add to this masterpiece.
This week our kindergarten students are learning about space. Mrs. Jenson's class had a lot of fun in the mini planetarium she created for learning!
The YMCA has made some updates to their Summer Y Registration taking into account Moorhead School District’s extended summer school dates this year. Take a peek at the library schedule for May. If your child has missing library books this is a great month to look for them and get them back to school so your child can start with a clear library record next fall.

BOGO Scholastic Book Fair will be May 3-4 from 1:40-6 p.m. in the Black Gym. Enter through the door by the playground. Everything is Buy One, Get One Free. Masks, sanitizing and distancing will apply. (Students will not be shopping during the school day for this event.)

🔶She graduated from MSUM with a degree in Elementary Education.
🔶Her hobbies include: reading a good mystery book, binge watching TV, online shopping way too much, trying new recipes, attending concerts and spending time with her loved ones.
🔶Briana’s favorite part of her job is being able to connect with so many wonderful people at MAPS!

Helping our school all year long is easy! Just shop and take a picture of your receipt in the Box Top App. Our school PTAC earns money that goes back to our school in many ways. Anyone can submit their box tops to Ellen Hopkins so share the idea with family and friends!

What a fun Tuesday! Moorhead Police Officers visited the 2nd graders to read the book Officer Buckle and Gloria by Peggy Rathmann. Each student got to keep their own copy too!
