It's National Social Worker Appreciation Month. Hilda Cervantes Cardona is the Dorothy Dodd's Elementary social worker. Principal Wilson says, “Ms. Hilda is a true servant leader and her smile brightens any room! The energy she puts into building positive and supportive relationships among Dodd's' students and their families is greatly appreciated!” Hats off to all of our outstanding MAPS social workers!

A cheesy dream come true!🍕 Robert Asp 3rd grader Josie Morris wrote a persuasive letter to the lunchroom asking for regular slices of pizza instead of personal ones. The food service staff worked together to make Josie’s dream a reality and served the students a gooey slice of triangle pizza!

Wednesday, March 8, is a late start day. Buses and classes for Moorhead Area Public Schools K-12 will run two hours later than the normal schedule. Preschool students will continue with their regular schedule.
We Are Proud recognitions go out to two MHS Choir Students! 👏 MHS Sophomore Eleanor Culloton participated in the American Choral Directors Association 2023 Honor Choir. MHS Senior EmmaLeigh Black was selected into the 2022-23 Minnesota Music Educators Association All-State Choir.
Aaron Reierson lets the puck fly by the Roseau goalie, scoring his third of four goals at the boy's hockey 8AA section final game held in East Grand Forks at the Civic Center on March 2. The Spuds, playing their 23rd straight section final, downed the Rams 8-1 to punch their fifth straight ticket to the Xcel Center to play in the state tournament. It will be their 20th state tournament appearance. Moorhead will play No. 3 seeded Edina on March 9 at 1pm in the opening round. #GoSpuds 🏒

MHS Career Academy held its first job fair on March 3. Teachers prepared students with questions and games to help them discover more about careers available in the region. Thirty-three businesses and community organizations showcased their careers and connected with students.
Congratulations to the MHS Girls Hockey Team who won the consolation championship at the MN Class AA State Hockey tournament on Feb. 23-25. Senior Olivia Dronen was also honored by receiving All-Tournament Team and Honorable-Mention All-State. After a 17-year wait, the girls capped off a wonderful year and brought home some hardware. 🏆 Congratulations ladies!
The Spuds are headed to state! Wrestling and Boys' Swimming will be competing at their state tournaments over the weekend. Aiden Carlson and Dresden Adams earned their state meet berths for swimming. MHS Wrestlers competing are Dane Ellingsberg, Michael Jenkins and Jake Erdmann, and Tia Kanneh. Mason Kraft turns and heads for the loose puck during the Feb 21 game against Brainerd held at the Moorhead Sports Center. Kraft tallied two goals in the contest as top-seeded Moorhead defeated ninth-seeded Brainerd in the quarterfinal game of the Section 8AA boys' hockey tournament. The Spuds won 6-2 over the Warriors and then moved on to take down fourth-seeded Sartell in the semifinal on Feb 26 by a score of 4-1. For the 23rd year in a row, Moorhead will be in the section finals which were rescheduled due to the storm. The Spuds take on No. 2 seed Roseau tonight at 7 p.m. in the East Grand Forks Civic Center.
