Last week, Moorhead Police Department School Resource Officers visited second graders at all MAPS elementary schools for a safety-focused read-along, sponsored by the Moorhead Police Athletics and Activities League. Officers shared the story of "Officer Buckle and Gloria," emphasizing important safety lessons. Every student received a copy of the book, and each classroom received a plush toy resembling Police K-9 Zeke. #OnceASpudAlwaysASpud

Excitement filled the Concordia College gym as third-grade students from across the district and Red River Valley gathered for a musical performance by the Concordia percussion ensemble, part of the Learning Bank program. Known for its innovative approach to arts education, Learning Bank aims to immerse students in the world of music. Throughout the show, students were introduced to a variety of instruments and able to immerse themselves in the world of music. 🥁

Every first Thursday of the month, lunch menus throughout the Moorhead Area Public School district feature proteins and produce sourced from farms and ranches in Minnesota. All Moorhead public and non-public schools, including Community Education classes, are closed February 27. Moorhead Area Public School students in grades E-12 are required to complete an eLearning day. All before-school, after-school and evening activities are canceled.

Probstfield parent and PTAC board member, David Vander Ark, was a hero this week as he found and helped rescue a man who had fallen in the river.
