In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, elementary schools across the district hosted Drum & Dance events where Native American drummers and dancers from Moorhead High and Horizon Middle School—plus their own elementary classmates—visited and performed a set of traditional songs and dances. Each event was emceed by Matthew Johnson, the Indian Education Liaison for S.G. Reinertsen Elementary. For the final song of each show, the audience was invited to participate, leading to gyms full of Spuds dancing along to the beat of the drum. Many youngsters were even seen dancing out of the gym on the way back to their classrooms! #FoundationsForTheFuture

We are proud of 2nd grader Emma who got her question picked to be answered by author Juana Martinez-Neal.

Summer EXCEL is coming to a close. Aside from supporting reading and math we worked on lots of fun projects around geography and even some circuit building and teamwork. Learning is fun!

Congratulations to our 4th grade graduates! The class of 2033 will be moving on to middle school. We are so proud of them and will miss them here at Probstfield!

This week at EXCEL we are working on teamwork, following HOW TO directions, coding and having fun learning with our LEGO Spike kits.

Probstfield's EXCEL summer program is off to a great start! This week for their specials class our students read The Lorax and learned about water pollution. We even made our own ocean models to test how difficult it is to clean water from an oil spill.
