As part of Read Across America we are celebrating a favorite author, Mo Willems! We are big fans of them here at Hopkins. You can tell by all the pink and gray!

This week we celebrate reading with Read Across America! Tuesday is dress in grey if Gerald is your favorite and pink for Piggy, Thursday is hat day and Friday is wear a t-shirt that celebrates a book character or dress as a book character.

All Moorhead public and non-public schools, including Community Education classes, are closed Tuesday, Feb. 22. Moorhead Area Public School students in grades E-12 and online students are required to complete an eLearning day. All before-school, after-school and evening activities are canceled.

Last week, students at Ellen Hopkins Elementary School made Statue of Liberty crowns to learn about American symbols. They even got a surprise visit from Spuddy and were excited to show off their hard work! #SpudPride

Before-school activities are canceled. Online students and West Central Academy will maintain a regular schedule.

4th Graders did an incredible job creating their faux stained glass love collages. From studying the artist Romare Bearden, to creating their own work, students were honed in on the creative process and did an amazing job!

First grade created Lollipop sculptures inspired by the artist Wayne Thiebaud and the book Oliver's Lollipop written by Allions Wortche to create their own lollipop sculptures! Love is in the air, as students could choose to create a circular lollipop or a heart shaped one and many created their heart lollipop masterpieces.
