WOW, Sawyer has had an amazing start to 4th grade! He has been super focused on his learning tasks, helpful in the classroom, and making good use of his time in the mornings, too. I am so proud of him and am looking forward to an awesome year! #aspspudoftheweek #SpudPride

Zaryhia has been doing a fantastic job with the start of the school year. She has been a great leader showing respectfulness and responsibility. She takes positive chances in the classroom when participating and has been a good friend to others. Keep doing a wonderful job, Zaryhia. #aspspudoftheweek #SpudPride

At recess last week, there were two 4th graders that were about to get physical at recess. Caid stopped them and told them they can't do that and to walk away from each other! It was so nice to see a student be an upstander so early in the school year! Good job, Caid #aspspudoftheweek #SpudPride
Liam has been absolutely outstanding to begin his school year! When I am looking to quietly get the attention of the class, Liam is always one of the first ones to show me he is ready. He is kind to his classmates, participates in discussions and tries to make the best choices for himself. Keep the the great work, Liam! #aspspudoftheweek #SpudPride

It is so impressive to see how focused you are during whole group and independent work time. Your ability to stay on task helps you to learn and produce quality work! Keep up the great focus, it demonstrates leadership! #aspspudoftheweek #SpudPride

Luther has started this school year in the best ways! He has shown he is a leader through listening and being kind and flexible. He is doing a great job picking up our classroom routines and modeling for other students. Way to go, Luther, it is going to be a great year! #aspspudoftheweek

Quinn emerged as a leader in our class throughout the first week of school. Quinn has put her all into every activity and lesson this week. Way to start the year off so strongly! #aspspudoftheweek

We had a new student start in our classroom on our Snow Hill day, and Armani and another student teamed up to give our new student a pair of gloves so they could be warm and play. I am so thankful for his kindness and thoughtfulness towards our new student!

Dexter is such an independent first grader. He is so good at following his routine, expectations, and completing his work. He has worked so hard to build these skills and I'm amazed with his progress.

Kelly Iverson's Kindergarten class is in love with writing thanks to the success through constant modeling and practice. We love that they already can identify nouns and sight words in a sentence.

In honor of National School Counseling Week (Feb 6th-10th), we want to introduce you to our wonderful school counselor at Robert Asp Elementary, Ms. Christine Hert. Christy is a huge advocate for our students, and is a major player in helping to address student mental health needs in our school community. Students love Ms. Christy, and know they count on her best.

Congratulations to this month's SPUD award winners - these students were recognized for being 'off to a great start in the classroom' and 'positive role models' for their classmates.
