October 5th and 12th - For students who missed getting their picture taken at back to school night or on Sept. 29th at Horizon. The district makeup school picture sessions will be at the District Operations Center instead of individual schools to try to simplify for families who may have been in quarantine or had a conflict. Sessions will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Oct. 5 and 12. Check out the website for more details.

Horizon-Middle School Girls Tennis Update #2: September 2nd, 2021!

T-Shirts/Uniforms: Shirts have been ordered and we are anticipating a cost of $12.00 per shirt. Checks can be made out to ‘Range Printing.’ They are trying to stay faithful to our student design but with rising production costs, shipping delays, shortages in available fabric, etc. there may be some tweaks. Expected by September 17th.
Our middle school girls were able to watch a Varsity Meet against Crookston yesterday, a match rescheduled due to today’s weather. It was a great opportunity to see tennis skills, singles and doubles play, and court strategy in live action.
Get out and play with a parent, teammate or friend! We encourage our middle school athletes to get out and practice with a parent, teammate or friend when weather allows. Play a set! Practice your serve. How about some short court tennis? Here are a few tennis links:

Intersquad Matches: Starting next week, players will be placed into four, equal ability intersquad teams. There will be two singles players and two doubles teams for each team. This is similar to how Varsity matches are set up and played, with a team gaining a point when they win at a singles or doubles position. Our drills in practice will now shift to executing the shots they will need in competition when playing a set or match against an opponent.
