Our unique mascot dates back over a century to the late 1910s and 1920s! The Red River Valley was renowned nationwide for its potato farming, and one early Moorhead school was even built directly on a former potato field.
To honor our area’s rich agricultural roots—and the hard work, grit, and pride of the community—the name stuck! More than a century later, we’re still proud to be the only school around cheering on the mighty Spud! 🥔🔥🧡🖤
