Congratulations to our December Spud Spirit Award winner Abby Peterschick. Abby is a JumpStart teacher who has worked at Moorhead Area Public Schools for eight years.

She was nominated by the parent of a student who described her as one of the kindest and most caring teachers. Abby always has great patience with everyone and most importantly, she cares about each and every one of her students.

Not only is she great at her job, but she is constantly going the extra mile to make sure all students and families feel included and appreciated. A recent example is when she took the time to connect with the parents of a student who had a unique name, not commonly used in this area. Abby took the time to connect and learn how to properly pronounce her student’s name. The importance she places on making sure every student feels seen and that they belong is a special talent she has.

Abby always puts parents and kids first! Her commitment to early learning and to the success of her students and families is a hallmark of her time at MAPS.

We are grateful for Abby. She is a positive influence and advocate for our students and is extremely deserving of the award.
