The Moorhead High School yearbook team has earned international acclaim for its exceptional coverage of the student body. On Oct. 14, Rick Westra from RWP presented the MHS yearbook staff with the Pictavo International Honor Roll award for the 2026 school year.

Superintendent Dr. Brandon Lunak and MHS Principal Josh Haag recognized Yearbook Advisor Grayson Griffin and student editors for their outstanding creativity, commitment to community representation, and dedication to capturing the spirit of MHS.

Selected from among more than 200 publications across Pictavo’s international network, the MHS yearbook was evaluated by a panel of professional journalists, designers, and photographers. Books were judged on excellence in inclusivity, representation, design innovation, photography, and graphics. According to Pictavo Chief Marketing Officer Steve Kent, the recognized publications "committed themselves to creating a book that was meaningful, inclusive and filled with OMG moments—three necessary elements of creating a modern yearbook".

This achievement comes during a transformative year for the publication. The yearbook recently transitioned into an after-school club and has grown to 30 active student members, offering hands-on experience in journalism, photography, graphic design, and project management.

Congratulations to Mr. Griffin and all student staff members on this well-deserved honor!
