Deb Becker has been a vital cornerstone of the Spud family since 1995, an amazing 31 years of dedicated service to our district! As the Superintendent’s administrative assistant, Deb works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep operations running smoothly. This month, we are thrilled to recognize Deb as the August recipient of the Spud Spirit Award for her unwavering commitment to our schools and community.
While Deb goes above and beyond every day, her work during last fall’s levy referendum election truly showcased what a force to be reckoned with she is. Organizing and processing an election demands precise adherence to state and county regulations, meticulous planning, and countless long hours. Deb took on this immense responsibility while seamlessly managing her everyday duties, upholding the integrity of the process every step of the way.
Even during the peak rush of absentee voting, Deb’s warmth and focus on relationships never wavered. Though handling a massive workload, she made a point to visit with community members who came in to vote, listening to their stories about local neighborhoods and how Moorhead has grown over the years. Her genuine kindness ensured that every visitor left feeling heard and valued.
By building strong connections with our community and serving as a dedicated steward of the public’s trust, Deb perfectly exemplifies what it means to have Spud Spirit. Superintendent Dr. Brandon Lunak presented Deb with her award pin to honor her outstanding contributions. Congratulations, Deb, on 31 incredible years and this well-deserved honor!
