You may notice some new faces at the Moorhead Area Public Schools this fall. The district is pleased to announce that Vincent Williams has joined the team as the Assistant Principal at Moorhead High, Dr. Kelly Dietrich as the Supervisor of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support - Behavior, and Joanne Karch as the Special Education Supervisor.
Vincent Williams Named Assistant Principal of Moorhead High School

Moorhead Area Public Schools is pleased to announce Vincent Williams as the new assistant principal of Moorhead High School.
Williams brings high-level district expertise and a proven track record of school leadership to MAPS. He most recently served as the Assistant Superintendent at West Fargo Public Schools, A highly respected professional in his field, Williams was honored with the prestigious Distinguished Alumni Award from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Williams earned both his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He also obtained his Administrative Credential through North Dakota State University.
In stepping into this new role, Williams notes that he is eager to join an awesome group of educators who are committed to the fundamental belief that all students can learn. “I’m looking forward to building meaningful and authentic relationships with staff, students, and families,” he said. “I’m also looking forward to learning about the history and culture of Moorhead Area Public Schools.”
Outside of his dedication to student success, a fun fact about Vincent is that he is a die-hard Chicago Bears fan.
Dr. Kelly Dietrich Named Supervisor of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support - Behavior

Moorhead Area Public Schools is pleased to announce Dr. Kelly Dietrich as the new Supervisor of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) - Behavior.
Dr. Dietrich joins the district from Fargo Public Schools, where she most recently served as a principal and led their Self-Directed Academy. Throughout her career, she has held key leadership roles as both a building principal and a Director of Special Education, specializing in building strong systems that support students and staff through organizational change.
Dr. Dietrich holds a B.S. from St. Catherine University, a Master’s and an Ed.D. from Bethel University, and is completing her MBA through St. Cloud State University this December.
"What excited me most was the people and the district's clear commitment to students, staff, and continuous improvement," Dr. Dietrich emphasized. "I believe great schools are built through collaboration, meaningful connections, and strong systems that support learning. Once a Spud, always a Spud!"
Outside of her professional life, Kelly loves snow and winter activities, enjoys the great outdoors, and is currently learning how to garden. She is also an avid reader.
Joanne Karch Named Special Education Supervisor

Moorhead Area Public Schools is pleased to announce Joanne Karch as the new Special Education Supervisor.
Karch joins the district leadership team from Edina Public Schools, where she served as the Assistant Director of Student Support Services. Throughout her career, she has spearheaded impactful specialized programming across Minnesota, including starting the transition program for Wayzata Public Schools and launching the Project SEARCH Program at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital.
Karch holds a B.S. in Special Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead, an M.A. in Special Education from the University of St. Thomas, and her Director of Special Education Licensure from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
For Karch, returning to Moorhead is a meaningful homecoming. "Family brought me back to Moorhead, and it is where I started my professional educational career," she said. "It is a full-circle moment to come back to where I began and help build on this already incredible program. My passion is with secondary programming, especially transition, and I’m excited to serve this community."
Outside of her professional role, Joanne loves spending time with her family, especially her new grandson, and is an avid knitter and yarn shop hopper. She is also a passionate fan of punk and hard rock, with the Foo Fighters topping her playlist.
