Moorhead Area Public Schools Announces 2026 Summer Food Program
Moorhead Area Public Schools is ensuring that local children stay healthy and well-fed this summer. The district has officially announced the launch of its 2026 Summer Food Program, offering free meal access to all children ages 18 and under.
To accommodate busy family schedules, breakfast and lunch options will be available at select school locations, while daily lunches will be delivered directly to several community parks.
Important Guidelines for Families
To remain compliant with program standards, the district has highlighted a couple of key requirements:
On-Site Requirement: Children must be physically present to receive food, and all meals must be eaten on-site.
Special Diets: Accommodations are available for children with specific dietary restrictions. Families can arrange special diet
meals by contacting the Food Services Department at 218-284-3325 or emailing foodnutrition@moorheadschools.org.
Distribution Schedules and Locations
The program operates across different schedules and neighborhoods from early June through late August:
Main Schedule: June 1 – August 20
The bulk of the summer food distribution takes place across local schools and parks over an 11-week period.

An additional breakfast site will be available at the Career Academy during specific blocks in June and July.

Breakfast Time: 7:45 AM - 8:15 AM (Lunch is not available at this site)
