Graduation 2026 Everything you need to know

The countdown is on! On Friday, May 29, the halls of Moorhead High School will buzz with pride and excitement as we celebrate the Class of 2026. While the spirit of the celebration remains as grand as ever, the community should take note of a significant update for this year’s ceremony: A ticketed wristband will be required for all guests to enter the building.

This new requirement is part of a comprehensive effort by MHS Administration to ensure a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for every graduate and guest in attendance.

Timeline and Venue

The commencement ceremony will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, in the Moorhead High School Main Gym. Doors will open for guests at 5:00 p.m.

New Ticket & Wristband Policy

To guarantee family attendance and maintain safety within the venue's physical limits, a ticketed system is being implemented for the first year.

  • Entry Requirement: Every guest must have an official Moorhead Graduation Wristband to enter the building.

  • Allocation: Each graduate will receive six (6) wristbands.

  • Children: Infants and small toddlers who can stay on a parent's lap do not need a wristband; all other children must have one.

Seating and Accessibility

The venue accommodates 3,500 people across the gym floor, bleachers, and the walking track. To ensure every guest has an unobstructed view of their graduate’s special moment, items that obstruct visibility, such as balloons, will not be allowed inside the gym. Please leave those items in your vehicle. A designated space will be available near the entrance for guests to place the items for the duration of the ceremony.

  • Accessible Seating: Located on the gym floor and the front row of the bleachers. Please note that guests in ADA seating still require a wristband for admission.

  • Late Arrivals:  Those arriving late will be ushered up to the mezzanine level to keep sightlines and aisles clear.

  • Virtual Viewing: For those unable to attend in person, Spuds TV will stream the entire ceremony live on YouTube.

Parking and Arrival

With a full house expected, MHS encourages all guests to carpool whenever possible.

  • Entry Points: All school parking lots will be open. Guests may enter through Door 1 (Southwest side) or Door 19 (East side).

  • Accessibility: Accessible parking is available on both sides of the building.

  • Safety Note: To ensure emergency access, please do not park in marked Fire Lanes.

We look forward to celebrating this milestone with the Class of 2026 and their families!
