MHS Construction Update March 2026, still frame of cabinets in an art room

Thank you for joining us for the March 2026 Moorhead High School Construction Project Phase 2 update! In February, we showed you the auditorium and black box theater; this month we’ll take a look at the new rooms surrounding the theater space, starting with the art rooms to the west of the auditorium.

These two massive art rooms are connected by a storage area—similar to the chemistry rooms above the main commons—and feature lots of cabinet storage and counter space. Both rooms will also have amenities necessary in art class, such as large sinks for cleaning up paint-covered hands. They also both have large windows with a view toward the river.

On the other side of the auditorium is the theater prep area, where enough lights have been installed for you to see how it looks. The main space in this room will be used for hair & makeup at the long counters you see. Meanwhile, there will be private individual changing rooms located along this short hallway to the south.

Now let’s take a quick peek at the auditorium to see the most recent progress. You can see drywall installation is coming along nicely, with the first floor mostly complete and the staircases and side walls in progress.

Stay tuned to the district website and social media channels for more updates as we get closer and closer to the completion of this exciting project!
