The Moorhead Area Public Schools School Board approved the 2026–27 academic calendar at its meeting on Monday.
The calendar was developed through a collaborative process that included teacher representatives from the elementary, middle and high school levels, administrators and district staff. More than 450 staff members provided feedback through surveys, which informed revisions and final decisions.
Key dates and features of the approved 2026–27 calendar include:
First day of school is Monday, August 31, 2026
The first two weeks of school are four day weeks
Scheduled early release days:
October 9 (Homecoming)
October 14 (MEA Break)
May 28 (Last day of school)
Evening conferences at all levels to improve family access
Three weather make-up days built in at the end of the year, if needed
Graduation will be Friday, May 28, 2027 at 7:00 p.m.
Early calendar approval allows families and staff to plan ahead and supports a successful school year for students.
