Students in Heather Arntson’s Block 2B PE 9/10 class took their physical education outside the school walls for a special visit to Eventide's The Linden Assisted Living Facility. The group joined residents during their daily fitness time, participating in a lively round of chair exercises and sharing meaningful conversations afterward.
“It was such a fun experience for everyone,” said Arntson. “The students really enjoyed interacting with the residents, and it was wonderful to see the connections being made through movement and conversation.”
A highlight of the visit was meeting Moorhead High legend Vern Nolting, a retired MHS teacher and longtime baseball coach, who is now a resident at Eventide. Students were excited to hear stories from his years at Moorhead High and to share a moment with someone who helped shape the school’s legacy.
The day served as a reminder of the power of community, fitness and intergenerational connection, and left both students and residents smiling.
