Thank you for joining us for the May 2025 update on Phase 2 of the Moorhead High School Construction Project. Last month, we gave you a first look inside the new auditorium, and now we move “down the hall” to the fine arts classrooms coming together at the south end of the site.
First, we look at the future band room, which is incredibly spacious and features a large, west-facing window for natural light.
The hallway that runs down the middle of this space will connect the fine arts section to the auditorium and MHS’ “Connector” area when construction is finished. The smaller classrooms and offices on the east side of the hallway are currently being roughed-in by construction workers.
The walls are nearly complete, though, for the other two larger performance art rooms, the orchestra room and the vocal performance room, which also feature high ceilings and lots of natural light, similar to their band counterpart.
Across the open space on the east side of the project, the Black Box theater and its adjoining multipurpose room both had their roofs completed earlier this month. Once electrical is installed, we’ll be able to get a better look inside these areas.
The construction is scheduled to open in phases throughout the 25-26 school year. Stay tuned to the district website and social channels for future updates!
