Video board inside new MHS gymnasium

We are excited to share monthly construction updates during this school year. Things are changing quickly at the Moorhead High School construction site and we want to document the progress. We will be on-site throughout the project to provide updates.

Watch a video walkthrough, or check out the highlights below. Click here for past updates.

1. This month, we’ll be looking at the progress in the athletic wing.

2. In the gym, railings continue to be installed on the second level and hoops and dividers have gone in to create three practice basketball courts or one large court for games in the middle of the gym.

3. Scoreboards can be seen in the lower corners of the space, with a larger scoreboard on the gym’s north wall.

4. The crown jewel of this area is the massive, four-sided video board that will hang over center court.

5. Moving on to the new pool, the concrete that forms the bottom of the pool has been fully poured and leak-tested, while the upstairs spectator area is nearly ready for seating installation.

6. At pool-level, details continue to emerge, such as a tile border that has been laid in school colors.

7. Taking a look at the weight room, important items like lighting and railings continue to be installed in the upper level and lower level areas to prepare this space for completion.

8. The weight room will be the first area of Phase I that students will use when the transition from the Sports Center to this new space occurs—just in time to take advantage of the view of Jim Gotta Stadium before winter rolls around!

9. Behind the main competition areas, the locker rooms are nearing completion. Rows of orange lockers stand ready for Spuds—whether in phy ed classes or interscholastic competition—to use in the coming months.
