Principal Message

SGR Families,

Thank you! It was so great to see many of you at conferences and our book fair last week! We hope that you had a great time, as we love being able to partner with you for the benefit of your child!

Notes this week:

  • Red Ribbon Week: We’re celebrating Red Ribbon Week with some dress up days, along with continued discussion in our rooms about what is/isn’t bullying and how to prevent it or respond to it

  • Weather: It has been a warm, dry fall mostly, which has been great for outdoor activities at school, like recess. However, the weather continues to get colder. Please check the weather daily and send your child in clothes that are appropriate for being outside for recess. Remember, we go outside for recess every day unless it is raining or colder than 0 F.

  • E-Learning Days: Speaking of colder weather, as a district we’re reviewing our E-Learning Plan for SNOW DAYS for all grades K-12. All MN schools have the option to use up to 5 E-Learning Days due to weather, and Moorhead has opted to use them again this year. However, we know that we can do better with them, which is why we’re reviewing the plan. Once we have a revised plan we’ll share it with all families. Again, E-Learning is only an option in place of traditional SNOW DAYS.

It’s a great week to be AWESOME, let’s make it awesome together!
