From the Nurse's Office

Family Health Care has a new mobile dental unit that will begin visiting Moorhead schools in October. Students, with the permission of parents, can have dental exams conveniently during school hours.

This 40-foot long mobile clinic was created to meet families in convenient locations. Through this mobile clinic, Family Health Care offers dental exams, dental cleanings, x-rays, pulpotomy, dental sealants, extractions, fillings, fluoride treatment and root canal therapy.

Family Health Care accepts private insurance and state insurance. If a family does not have insurance, they offer a sliding scale to provide affordable dental exams.

If the dentist recommends a treatment plan, parents will be contacted.

Would you like your child to have a dental exam?
Step 1: Complete a consent form and return to the main office or email it to healthservices@moorheadschools.org. Your permission form is required for your child to participate. A form did go home with each student in September, but please call the school health office if you need another one (218-284-5310).

Step 2: Moorhead Area Public Schools Health Services team will coordinate your childs’ dental appointment with Family Health Care during school hours.

Step 3: Mobile unit will provide a comprehensive dental exam to include cleaning, fluoride treatment and x-rays as necessary. Further dental care will be recommended by the Family Health Care dentist as needed. A treatment plan will be sent home to be signed prior to further treatment.
