Welcome to the last Sunday in September. It’s hard to believe it, as this year is already flying by. Kids and teachers are starting to get into routines here at school, and we hope the same is true for our families as well. We have a few notes for the upcoming week:
Lunch: Lunch has been going great in the cafeteria this year, which is great because it’s the first time since March 2020 that we’ve had all kids in there consistently. Remember, if you want to have a special lunch at school with your child, please feel free. All you have to do is have your license or ID, and a plan for lunch (eating at school, bringing from home, etc). Finally, we are starting to have some supply troubles again this year (lack of fresh produce, delivery struggles, etc). We’ll always have plenty of food for lunch, but sometimes we might have to change the menu at the last minute. For example, Mac & Cheese this week became Pasta w/ Alfredo Sauce this week. We’ll try to update the menu online, in the app, and at school as soon as we’re able when that happens.
Website: Speaking of the app and our website, please download (search Moorhead Schools in your app store) or visit either if you haven’t recently. We post great content every week in the news section, recognize students for great behavior, and update the calendar with events regularly. It’s also an easy place to check the lunch menu every morning in case there are changes like we noted previously.
Bullying: And speaking of our news section, this week we have a great article from our counselor, Ms. Shari. We’ve had some discussion with both kids and parents about bullying, so we thought it’d be good to clarify for everyone what it is and what it isn’t. She also talked about it in our principal video last Friday if you’d like to hear.
Homecoming Week: To help celebrate a great week of Homecoming, we have dress up days each day this week. See that attached link for the list of days!
SGR PTAC: We have two PTAC notes this week. First, to help prepare for Spud Pride Friday for homecoming week they will be selling shirts in the SGR lobby this week. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning from 7:15-7:50 stop in to buy a shirt (or car decal) for your child if you’d like. Shirts are available in all sizes and are $8-15, decals are $5, and they accept cash, card or checks made to SGR PTAC. Second, we’ve tentatively scheduled the 3rd Annual SGR Walk-A-Thon for Tuesday, October 4th, weather permitting obviously. Classes will walk on the field by our main parking lot during their scheduled recess times and parents are invited to join them! Online fundraising is already going, so please consider donating and/or sharing the link with relatives! Remember, we have a big goal of $30,000 this year!
