Happy Sunday! It was another great week, and we’re looking forward to continuing that trend! Some notes for the upcoming week:
Walk-A-Thon: The kickoff to our annual Walk-a-Thon started last week with fundraising envelopes and info letters sent home. Stop in or email the office if you didn’t get one and we’ll send it home. Students will be "walking" or "running" and having fun with their grade on a designated day and time during the first week in October (we’ll announce the specific day on Sunday, Oct 2 - we’re hoping we’ll have great weather). All profits from the fundraising will go back to SGR in forms of school, teacher, student resources, field trips, books and so much more. On top of that, funds raised from this will go towards building a proposed outdoor classroom at SGR! We hope you consider donating and working with your child to fundraise. Activity Fee: All elementary students in Moorhead have a $10 activity fee to be paid through their e-Funds account. Or, if you prefer to pay by check or cash, stop in the office. These fees go right to your child’s classroom and help to pay for field trips, class parties, and other activities in the classroom.
PS Registration: Many of you have already completed your annual PS Registration, so thank you! If you haven’t please complete it at this link as soon as you’re able. This provides us with the most accurate emergency contact info, field trip permission, etc., so we need it completed. Thanks!
Drills: We’ve completed 2 of our 5 mandatory evacuation drills this fall, and will practice our third this week. We’ll also have our mandatory bus evacuation drill this week, too. We’ll take a week or two off and then start our lockdown drills. We’ll provide more information closer to the dates of those.
Morning videos: We have a daily principal video that we share in each class. If you’re ever curious what we’re talking about, or your child is home sick, please check out our YouTube channel. Each video is generally 3-6 minutes in length, with a main talking point each day after we cover the pledge, lunches, and birthdays.
