Principal Message

SGR Families,

Welcome to SGR! We’re excited to have all of you here this year, and can’t wait for another AWESOME year of learning and growing together! We have a couple of quick notes we’d love to share with you prior to our Back-to-School Conferences next week:

  1. First, we can’t wait to partner with you to provide the best educational experience possible for your child. All of our teachers will be asking at least three questions of you when you are here because we want to be your partner in your child’s education. Please read through and know that your child’s teacher will be touching base with you on all three:

    1. What goal do you have for your child academically this year?

    2. What goal do you have for your child socially this year?

    3. How can we best partner together?

  2. In addition to meeting your child’s teacher, seeing the classroom, finding your locker, and dropping off your supplies for the year, we’ll also have a number of people on-site during all Back-to-School times to help with anything you may need to start the year successfully. Our nurses will answer questions related to your child’s health. Transportation will help with bus related questions. Some of our teaching staff will help with PS Registration, and our administrative assistants will help with everything else!

  3. Back-to-School Conference information, including classroom teacher and conference time, are available online in Powerschool. Please check your time if you haven’t already because everyone is scheduled either Wednesday or Thursday afternoon (12:00-3:45 pm).

  4. If you can’t make your scheduled 1:1 conference, please feel free to call our main office at 218-284-5300. We can’t guarantee that we can find an alternate time because schedules are tight, but we can try. Regardless, we’d still love to know if you can’t make the afternoon conference so we can open up your time for someone else. Thanks!

  5. Additionally, we know that afternoon times don’t work for all families. No worries, we also have an evening open house time on Thursday, August 25th, for families that can’t make the afternoon work. It’s not 1:1 conferences, but you can still meet your teacher, drop off supplies, find your locker, and tour the school.

  6. Families do NOT need to attend both the 1:1 conference and the open house because everything will be the same. Just attend one or the other, whatever works best for your family.

We can’t wait to meet everyone on either Wednesday or Thursday! Have an awesome day!
