Principal Message

SGR Families,

Happy May! Here’s to hoping that all of these April showers (and snowstorms) eventually lead to May flowers. Four weeks, 18 days of school left to make a difference or leave a legacy. Our final monthly theme is “Finish Strong”, and we hope that all students will! A few notes as we begin the last month of school:

  • NO SCHOOL: No school Monday or Tuesday, May 2 & 3
  • Excel: No Excel after school Tuesday, obviously, but we will have it again on Thursday after school. Also, the last day for Excel is Thursday, May 12.
  • Walk to School Day: Wednesday, May 4th is National Walk, Bike, and Roll to school day! Please join in by walking, biking, or rolling to school to encourage:
  • Physical Activity
  • Pedestrian and bicycle skills
  • Concern for the environment
  • Reducing traffic, pollution, and speed near schools
  • Sharing time with our school community
  • Field Trips: Our 4th grade will be going to the Hjemkomst on Wednesday and Skate City on Friday. Both should be awesome events. Please connect with your teachers if you have any questions.
  • Student Placement information: The attached link is an OPTIONAL form for families to fill out regarding student placement for next school year. Our staff knows your child well and will provide great information to assist in placing your child in the best setting possible for them next year. At the same time, we know that you know your own child best. The optional form provides you an opportunity to share that information with us. If interested, complete the form. We’ll keep the form open until the last day of school.

It has been an awesome year and we’re excited to finish it strong with your kids! Have an awesome week!
