Principal Message

SGR Families,

Happy Sunday like a Saturday! Remember, tomorrow is Presidents’ Day, which means no school. eLearning packets from last Friday should be completed by your child, signed by you, and returned to school on Tuesday. Districtwide this is how we track attendance at the K-4 level.

We have a few notes for this upcoming week:

  • Masking: Remember, it is optional at SCHOOL, but still mandated on BUSES due to a federal requirement related to mass transportation. If that changes, the district will notify all families
  • Park Day: This Friday, February 25 (assuming the weather is fine) is our annual Winter Fun Park Day! Classroom teachers should be sending home either electronic or paper copies of this sheet, along with times they’ll be sledding. Please note - sleds CANNOT go on buses. If your child has their own sled that they’d like to use that day, it needs to be dropped off and picked up at school that day (be ready for busy lots) and we’ll transport them between school and the park for kids. If you don’t have a sled, no worries! We have a couple that we keep out there all day, but otherwise kids are happy to share, take turns, etc. Field trip permission is needed to attend this event. Speaking of field trip permission…
  • Field Trip Form: Most of you have approved field trips during infosnap registration, and it carries forward each year. So if you’ve completed it previously, you’re good. Most teachers sent home a paper copy for guardians to complete IF we don’t have your permission already. However, if you’re still unsure, print and complete this form, then return it to your child’s teacher or the office. Thanks!
  • Kids Heart Challenge! As of Valentines Day, SGR has raised $2,000 for the American Heart Association! Nice work SGR families! We also have a HUGE announcement - Anyone who goes onto the SGR KHC website and registers will be entered into a drawing to win a NEW BIKE! You do NOT need to fundraise to be entered; just register online. Also, for every $100 you raise you will get another entry into the drawing. Watch here to see Mrs. Weaver share the exciting news. We have included a video you can watch to show you how to register. If you have any questions you can contact Mrs. Weaver at lweaver@moorheadschools.org
  • PS Registration: Have you still been missing calls or texts from the school related to weather? No Field Trip form online? If either is true, it’s likely you haven’t updated your PS Registration, so you’ll want to do this as soon as you can the next time you are in Powerschool (left side, titled “Registration 2021-2022”). Please do so if you haven’t already. And if you have any trouble with Powerschool, the attached document and video outlines steps to troubleshoot.

Thanks for another great week, we can’t wait to make this one awesome, too!

Mr. St. Louis and Mrs. Nagel, principals
