A Message from Our School Counselor

Happy New Year from Ms. Shari!

Our Monthly Theme:  Honesty

Honesty-doing the right thing-speaking and acting truthfully and thereby morally upright.

Living the values of honesty is doing what is right for the group and holding himself/herself and others to high standards of integrity.

  • Be honest with yourself

  • Maintain truthfulness, sincerity, and fairness in one’s actions

  • To communicate with others and transmit information fairly and truthfully

  • Set realistic short and long term goals

  • Be honest at home, work, and school, with family, coworkers, teachers and classmates

  • Be honest with others; if you say you will do something, do it.

  • Be honest with yourself and have an understanding of who you are, accept who you are and know how to use the gifts you have been given.

Honestly, this has been a VERY DIFFICULT two years.  Looking back to the beginning of last year though, gives me perspective.  Last year, we were starting January 2021 with only part of our student body back in school together.  There were experimental vaccines and a whole lot of upheaval in our schools, community, country and world.

We aren’t all back together and there are signs that we may never go back to the “normal” that was pre pandemic, but we are further down the road to recovery.  We are healing. We are on our way back together.  And for that, I am honestly very, very thankful.

I hope this first “Counselor Corner” article finds you and your family safe, setting realistic short and long term goals for yourselves so that you can all contribute to a better family system together.  From there we can build a better school and community system. I wish you all health, growth, and peace as we enter a new year together.  We were born to be in community and in relationship with others. Together we are better, honestly.
