SGR Families,

Happy Sunday! We have a short note for a short week of school:

  • Gratitude: We’re filled with gratitude for the work all of our families are doing to partner with us this year. We’ve loved goal setting with you in August and October, and appreciate being able to work together for the benefit of our kids!
  • Absences: We know many of you are traveling this week, either part of the week or the whole week, which is awesome. Please remember to call the office for these absences (or any absence, really) so that we know you’re going to be gone. A simple, “We’re traveling,” or “We’re going to be out of town,” works really well. If we haven’t heard from you, then we’ll send the autodialer reminder. Entering your absences online in Powerschool works, too.
  • Winter Gear: We’ve seen many kids bringing/wearing their winter gear, which is awesome because even though it was dry to end the week, it was still cooler outside. This week looks a little warmer, so adjust accordingly, if needed. One downside to all the winter gear is that many more items potentially get lost. Imagine what your winter clothing area looks like at home, then multiply that by 700 and you’ll have an idea of what it looks like in our locker bays. It’s messy and items get moved around unintentionally. Please LABEL your child’s winter clothing with at least their last name, as that helps us when items go missing.
  • No School: The last of school this week is Wednesday! Please keep your kids home on Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday, as no one will be at school those days.

Holiday weeks are always busy weeks at home and at school, especially in our parking lots. Please be mindful of that as we cruise through the beginning of the holiday season! Have an awesome day, and safe travels to everyone who is heading out of town!
