SGR Families,

It is another beautiful weekend! Hopefully everyone has had a chance to enjoy some great time outside! Speaking of outside, our first note this week relates to the great outdoors:

  • Purposeful: Our word of the week this week is purposeful, and we’re connecting it to our end of the day transitions. We’re working to teach all kids to have a purposeful plan for the end of the day. That includes knowing what you’re doing and where you’re going. It also includes having a plan on where to meet parents, siblings, friends, etc if that is part of your plan. We want students to get in the habit of meeting outside, rather than picking up at classrooms now that we’re starting the fifth week of school. If you can talk with your own children about this as well, that’d be awesome!
  • Parking Lots: Purposeful also works for adults as well. Please be purposeful in how you enter/exit our lots, which includes staying off of phones while driving. We have a lot of kids still learning how to navigate the sidewalks and parking lots, and they aren’t always paying attention.
  • Walking/Biking: The weather continues to be pretty nice. Walking, biking, and even riding scooters are great ways for kids to get to/from school! Connect with your neighbors and set up some walking/riding groups. It’s also a great way to avoid driving in our parking lots!
  • Red Ribbon/Homecoming Week: Next week we’re celebrating both Red Ribbon Week and Homecoming Week together with some fun dress up days! We’ll share more information later in the week, but wanted everyone to have a heads up that it’s coming!
  • Counselor Corner: Check out our website (or app) for a weekly note from our school counselor, Ms. Shari! She always has great tidbits of information to share with our families, so please give it a look!

We think that’s all we have today! Let’s make it an awesome week!
