A Message From Our School Social Worker

Dear S.G. Reinertsen Families: 

Before we break for the summer, we wanted to pass along some helpful information. 

211 Info Line:  For general information on community resources, please call 211.  Also, if you are in need of assistance with rent and/or utilities, please call 211.  They will be able to provide you with information on programs and services you might be eligible for.    

Child Care Assistance Program through Clay County:  Jamie Davies is the coordinator for the Child Care Assistance Program.  This is a program that helps families pay for child care.  Jamie can get an application out to you via email or snail mail. She is available to answer any questions regarding eligibility and how determinations are made.  Jamie can be  reached directly at 218-299-7079.

Health insurance and SNAP benefits for Minnesota residents: Lynn with CAP-LP (Lakes & Prairies Community Action Partnership) (http://www.caplp.org/) can be reached directly at 218-443-8639.  She is a MNsure Navigator and can assist families with signing up for health insurance and SNAP benefits.  Lynn can take the information over the phone and complete the application online for families. 

***North Dakota residents in need of health insurance and SNAP benefits can contact Angelique McDonald (SNAP Outreach Coordinator) at 855-405-000 or via email at amcdonald@greatplainsfoodbank.org.

Whole Family Resource Navigator:  Alessandra Lopez with CAP-LP can be reached directly at 218-443-8565 or at alessandral@caplp.org.  She is able to assist families with applications for SNAP benefits and also connect them with resources in the area.

Free Meals for Kids mobile App: 

All kids up to age 18 can locate the nearest site, show up at the right time, and eat. No registration or prior sign-up is necessary. There are free serving sites across the state at school, parks, recreation centers, community centers, and libraries.
