Show Respect by Volunteering

Spring Greetings from your school counselor, Ms. Shari.

Our Weekly Theme:    Volunteer

A volunteer spends time doing something that aims to benefit the environment or someone else with nothing expected in return.

Volunteering is a WIN-WIN!  Not only does volunteering help the person or group intended, it also helps the volunteer feel good about themselves too.  It feels good to do good unto others.  In fact, one of the best remedies for depression is to volunteer some of your time to help someone else.

“Volunteering is at the very core of being a human.  No one has made it through life without someone else’s help.”    – Heather French Henry

Ways to Volunteer:

  • Help Serve at a food bank or soup kitchen.

  • Tutor younger students.

  • Clean up trash from your neighborhood

  • Visit a nursing home.

  • Work at an animal shelter

  • Help out at the library.

  • Walk or run for a fundraiser.

Praise What We Want Repeated!  We want to encourage VOLUNTEERING!

"Thank you for helping me finish _______________.  It would have taken me soooo much longer without your help!"

It's always better to work together" “You’re my favorite helper!”(I know I say that to all of you when you help but it’s true, when you are helpful, you are all my favorites!)
