Principal Message

SGR Families,

Wow! That’s all we can say, wow! Sledding Day was AMAZING! Students had a ton of fun, as did the teachers and principals. Thanks to everyone who brought sleds, helped out at the park, or just watched kids having fun. A huge THANK YOU to SGR PTAC who made it possible by providing the buses for us for the day. We still have a couple of sleds in the office, so if you weren’t able to pick your sled up on Friday, please stop by sometime on Monday or Tuesday during the school day, or during conferences on Monday night or Wednesday morning to grab it. Some other notes this short week:

  • No Excel: We mentioned it last week, but again please note that there is NOT Excel this week. We’ll resume our regular Tue/Thur afternoon Excel sessions again when we return from spring break next week.

  • Lost & Found: We started displaying Lost & Found before conferences last week, and will have it up through conferences this week. At noon on Wednesday we’ll gather whatever is left and donate it. Please remind your child to look for items this week if you know something is missing. You may also stop in during conferences to look as well. Thanks!

  • Conferences/Book Fair: Both will again run on Monday night from 4:00-7:30 pm and Wednesday morning from 8:00-11:30 am. Please call the office if you still need to schedule your conference, and visit the book fair if you’d like to buy some awesome books and support our PTAC!

  • MCA Testing: Grades 3 & 4 will begin MCA testing as required by the state for both reading and math later this month. At SGR students in those grades will test between March 28 and April 26. Individual teachers in those grades will share specific dates with their classes, as times/dates vary by class/grade. We’ll email our official notification letter in a couple of weeks, but wanted to give you a heads up now.

It’s going to be a short week of school and then a brief spring (winter?!?!) break! Enjoy it!

Mr. St. Louis and Mrs. Nagel, principals
