Principal Message

SGR Families,

Happy Read Across America Week! It’s going to be an amazing week of reading fun! Most classes will be doing their own thing this week at varying levels. But we’ll also have a couple of school wide events, too. Each day will have a book theme as we encourage students and families to think about books that mean something to them. On Thursday we’ll have some MSUM students in the building reading to each class and doing an activity. It’s going to be a lot of fun!

Some other notes for the week:

  • eLearning: Thanks to all of our families who have worked hard to make eLearning work for our students a couple of times the last few weeks. Most of our students have had charged chromebooks, have been able to join their meets on time, and have used their chromebooks only for school work and websites when at home. Thanks also to our families who have returned chromebooks with students immediately, as that’s really the only option students have for online work at school. Finally, we’ve now used four eLearning days this year, so according to state statute we can only use one more. Hopefully the weather holds up and we can just have regular days, but who knows?

  • Conferences: They are next week, so if you haven’t signed up for a time yet, please do that this week. Log into PowerSchool and look for PowerPTC to find a conference time that works for you

  • Sledding Day: Unfortunately we had to cancel our sledding day last week due to weather. We hope to reschedule, but to be honest, we’re still short staffed in the transportation department. We’ll do our best and then let families know if/when we have a new date!

Here’s to a warmer week!
