Students with new books

Thanks to the Moorhead Legacy Grant, Probstfield students are getting some new and popular books! Through this generous donation, a small group of students were able to come together, forming what we call the Legacy Library Team.

Third and fourth grade students Beatrice, Angel, Abuelrhmn, JD, and Aws helped choose books by researching what Probstfield students wanted to see on our library shelves. The most popular books fly off the shelf making it hard for some students to get their hands on them. Using that knowledge, the team decided what books needed multiple copies.

Being the first students to crack open the new books felt very special. They have a sense of ownership with these books now.  Each student picked their favorite and got to be the first to check it out.

To share our new books and get kids excited about them, the team will present book talks throughout the month of March. It might be a classroom visit, a spotlight on our morning show, or a video. When one student is excited about a book, it definitely has a domino effect.
