2025-26 eLearning Day Severe Weather Plan

eLearning Days for the First Three Weather Closures

As we move into the winter season, we want to ensure families and staff have clear expectations for weather-related closures. Our goal is to keep students safe while also minimizing disruptions to learning and avoiding surprises at the end of the school year.

For the first three weather-related closure days, Moorhead Area Public Schools will implement eLearning days.

  • Students will receive learning activities and expectations from their teachers.

  • Teachers will be available for support during defined hours communicated by each school.

  • Additional details about eLearning schedules and expectations will come from your child’s principal and teachers.

  • These eLearning days will count as regular school days, and students will be marked present based on participation and completion of assigned work.

In-Person Make-Up Days After Three eLearning Days

If our district experiences more than three weather-related closure days, any additional closure days will need to be made up in person at the end of the school year.

Our district calendar identifies the following dates as potential in-person make-up days:

  • June 1

  • June 2

  • June 3

If needed, these days will become regular school days for students and staff. If they are not needed, they will remain summer break days as originally planned.

Why This Matters

We want to be sure families and staff are aware of this plan now so there is no confusion or surprise later in the year.

  • Please keep June 1–3 open as possible school days when making early summer plans.

  • We will communicate clearly and as early as possible if any of these dates will be used as make-up days.

Thank you for your flexibility and partnership as we work to prioritize both safety and learning. If you have questions about early outs or eLearning expectations, please contact your school office or the district office.
