MHS Families,
We want to make you aware of a safety-related incident that occurred outside the Moorhead High School Career Academy. On November 18, a household steak knife was found by an adult outside one of the side entrances and was promptly reported and secured. The student connected to the situation is no longer enrolled at the high school and did not enter the building at any time. The information has been provided to the Moorhead Police Department, and there is no threat to staff or students.
While it is understandably unsettling news, it also reinforces that our locked doors and safety protocols are working as intended to reduce potential threats and keep prohibited items out of our buildings.
As always, student and staff safety and security are our top priority. We will continue to monitor and follow up as needed. Thank you for your attentiveness and your ongoing efforts to maintain a safe environment for our students and staff.
Josh Haag,
MHS Principal
