We are excited to share monthly construction updates during this school year. Things are changing quickly at the Moorhead High School construction site and we want to document the progress. We will be on-site throughout the project to provide updates.

Watch a video walkthrough, or check out the highlights below. Click here for past updates.

After taking a wider overview of the entire project last month, the June 2023 update will focus on the progress made in the academic areas of Phase I.

1. Neighborhood Commons

In each academic wing, details are starting to fill out the space in the Neighborhood Commons. In this wing’s collaboration area, you can see the railings have been installed on the main staircase and tie into the library shelves’ wood aesthetic. These areas also provide nice views outside with lots of natural light—especially on sunny days.

2. Multi-purpose Rooms

At the far end of each neighborhood commons, under the main staircase you will find a larger multi-purpose room. Each room will feature two full walls of windows with nice views of what will be green space outside. Wall space will include screens and whiteboards to facilitate collaboration. And a large interior window looks out to the neighborhood commons bringing connection to the large group interaction spaces.

3. Neighborhood Classrooms

The three academic wings are in varying stages of construction. In certain areas of the project, some classrooms are nearing completion. This classroom, for example, already has its door and whiteboards installed, carpet laid and drop-ceiling hung—what you see now is very close to what teachers and students will see when the big move happens in December.

4. Science Classrooms

Off the main student Commons, the science classrooms are also coming along nicely, with storage and fixtures now installed.
