NDSU

The Ellen Hopkins Elementary second grade was buzzing with excitement as the North Dakota State University (NDSU) Department of Plant Science stopped by for a hands-on lesson in horticulture.

Associate Professor Alan Zuk, along with several NDSU students, traded their university labs for our elementary cafeteria to lead a planting activity with the entire second grade team. The young gardeners learned about the lifecycle of plants and what it takes to help a seedling thrive. With dirt on their hands and smiles on their faces, every student got the chance to get "down to earth" and plant their very own seeds to take home and gift to teachers.

A huge Go Bison and a heartfelt thank you to Alan Zuk and his team for nurturing our students' curiosity and helping our second graders grow!
